Two reasons... 1) Work. I go where the office tells me, gaining miles all the way. Woo hoo! Keep sending me to California, guys (so far this year I've been to Cali twice, plus Phoenix and Vegas)! 2) My GF lives in Chicago. If I want her to CONTINUE being my GF, I'll be spending plenty of time in Chi-town.
I'm in ATL and fly mostly DL and AirTran. Not sure what I think of the SW merger. I like assigned seats.
I'm based in PHL and fly AA. I'm curious about the AA and US Air possible merger that's been resurfacing in the news again. P.S. Please don't like this post bc I can't stand US Air.
Altho I started w/ US, switched to UA. Like E+, ability to fly to Asia, great treatment for 1K's (well, at least it has been great, time will tell if it stays that way). Due to changes in Mileage Plus, status it isn't much for silvers, fair for gold, still pretty good for 1K. If just flying a little, would be (or revert to) being a Kayaker. If you're likely to fly UA a fair amount, but not enough to get much status, would get a Presidential Pt card, which gives many of the benefits of status (lounge membership, some priority check in, boarding etc.) for $400 or so.
I'm still with US . As a newbie still trying to learn the trade, I like how convenient US makes it for me to maintain or bump status when I'm in a pinch. Their "buy up" offers and their 90 day trial have always left me an open door to shell out a few dollars and get a higher status. I know DL often offer Q4 promotions which have the same idea. (If you know of others, I'd be interested in hearing). Probably switching to DL though. My folks are based at ECP. Love the beaches but DL & WN are the only carriers.
I fly AA out of NYC, mostly out of loyalty. I have been an AAdvantage member since 1991, and haven't had a compelling reason to ditch them yet.
Hi do I am new here. A delta gold medallion working toward my MM status - any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
Oh look it's a blue glass Weeble <<<<< that's me for now- stuck in weebledom Gauntlet dropped! Who shall rescue this Lass? Oh dear and I have a dl fly to Istanbul on the 3rd march!!!!! Working hard to bring smiles to all! Cheers
Hi how do you know when you are approved for pre check please? I received A letter from dl inviting me to accept pre check - what's. Different Please thank you kind sir enjoy!
I fly United mostly out of necessity. For a long time, I was a US flyer who primarily flew SFO-PIT or SFO-PHL and onto other US destinations. They've really reduced service, though. Then I flew more AA, same thing. United's the only international carrier that does what I want, though I did fly KLM over the holidays.
I'm not sure how it will show up on Delta's website (I almost never fly Delta), but on AA's website, it shows up under 'My Account.' Then, under the 'Personal Information' tab, there's a whole section for 'Secure Flight Information'. It shows up under 'TSA Expedited Screening Program', and I have a big, green check mark, followed by "Known Passenger.' Maybe a DL expert can chime in with some real info fo r you, but I hope that helps!
Well, I'm honoring your request not to 'like' your post, but I did want to quote it, because I totally agree!
Oh!!!! I have about 706,000 toward my million miler status so I am trying really hard to get to that sweet MM status soon Any pointers- greatly appreciated! Wow re your status!! I am only gold
I've been on here a while and never commented in this forum. For me, it's complicated. A long time ago I did a ton of travel in Asia and the South Pacific and had a good amount of *A miles. Then I had a huge gap in travel (college, professional school...). Throughout most of this, I used to live in AA land hence platinum status and I have a respectable bit of milage toward MM thanks to the Citibank Advantage card (prior to 12/11). However, I live in DL land now, and I've used them instead for personal and business travel most recently out of convenience. At this time, I think that DL has consistently had a better product on the flights that I've been on. I have quite a bit of travel booked on them the rest of this Spring. I guess I'm defecting...
For me right now there is no one airline. Where ever the cc bonuses and where ever I can fly the cheapest at this point in my life. Once I get out of school and settle down a bit, then I will look into sticking with just one or two.
Next week is my first return to ATL since the turds landed. That'll be interesting to see ... Sent from my iPhone using milepoint
