I received the Northern Accent, too. It's too bad they don't break it down further because we Chicagoans definitely have an accent of our own.

Coming from Hillbillyland and settling in the Deep South, darlin; that little ole test didn't have any trouble identifying my accent as Southern. Still, I'm inclined to think that my American accent is somewhat subject to change at any moment depending on how much I may have been drinkin , or how amorous I may be afeeling.

Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.
I'm told I don't really have an accent which may be from growing up as an Army brat and moving every couple/few years (including MA, TX, GA, Germany, PA and eventually NJ) until I was a teenager. I definitely don't have the Philly/South Jersey accent that I'm surrounded by these days.

I don't have any accent. Ha,ha, and the quiz got it right too, Neutral. I remember reading that I grew up in one of the areas where there really isn't any accent.
The quiz says mine is Northeastern but I have to disagree with the map that was displayed as I'm from Boston and we don't have an accent, the rest of the country does . We speak propah english
Northeastern Really? I disagree. I pronounce my words very clearly and without much drawl (living in Indiana for a few years will do that) but I'm definitely Southern
