Hello, I'm lucky enough to be able to choose from 5 business award flights to Europe. None of the first legs (will be connecting to VCE) have flat bed seats. Which do you recommend? 1) Flight: TP104 (LIS) Airbus A330-200 (angled, don’t give degrees don’t recline to flat bed) 2) Flight: LH401 (FRA) Aircraft: Airbus A380-800 pitch 168 3) Flight: LH411 (MUC) Aircraft: Airbus A340-300 pitch 165 4) Flight: UA106 (FRA) Aircraft: Boeing 767-200 pitch 156 5) Flight: US714 (direct) Aircraft: Boeing 767 pitch 170 Thanks, Robin
I would recommend LH (not playing favorite either!), simply because the soft product (crew, etc) will usually be better on LH than on your other options that you listed. If you can manage your routing through IAD on the days the 747-8i flies (all except tues/wed) then you could try the completely new C. There is also an A330 going being MUC and IAD with the new C too. what date are you planning on flying?
Thank you for your quick response. I'm flying this Monday, the 9th. Since I'm connecting on to VCE I'd prefer just one connection, but appreciate the IAD info.
I would agree with 744. I would go with LH, from the options you mentioned, i would take the A380. Forget TAP, there's no comparison in overall flight experience., and that to me is more important than a few extra degrees of 'flatness' during the flight. Have a good trip! I would saved time and chosen the direct flight..then would have spoiled myself with a true lie flat bed in a spacious room in a hotel
I'd take the US Direct. The angled seats on the US 767 were quite comfortable for me. The time you save can give you a much more comfortable nap on a hotel bed when you arrive in VCE.
Regarding the US direct flight, I'd have to take a puddle jumper from NYC to PHL, so still not a direct flight.
The LH A380 is nice, new and fresh. It's fun, especially if you've never been on that aircraft. However, MUC is a much more pleasant connecting airport. Certainly avoid UA.
