Thanks Peter for that information. Would be nice if we had update on whether a promo would start late March or earlier (probably 3/15 if I had to guess).

Now, I wouldn't go that far!

But I have booked away from Hyatt so far this year -- no Hyatt stays in Jan or Feb at all. Instead I am focusing on the current promotions with IHG (and possibly SPG). C'mon Hyatt, give us the kool-aid so we can start drinking, er, booking, again!

personally I've simply been doing IHG to get the almighty Plat status out of the way, oh guess what, got it already;)

a question here on past promos specifically FFN or FWN

in the past, provided you had the FWN/FFN balance available, were you able to book two rooms in one hotel at the same time?

    AFAIK, the answer is yes.

I think in the past you could also use points to book those rooms first....(if you had points) and then transfer the award from points to an FFN award as well....

This is correct as well. What is terrific about FFN is Hyatt lets you reserve the room with FFN before you earn the free night so long as you provide a credit card guarantee, and there is award inventory available.

that was a fantastic part of the program. I had hotels booked with points then transferred to FFN even when the hotel was sold out by the time I had earned the FFN.
I found too many examples of hoarding with this part of the program, I hope that this aspect will not continue or at least be reserved for those who are actually loyal to Hyatt (say plat or diamond status).

Yes - you can book 2 rooms - I've done it quite a number of times - allowed according to the T&Cs as long as the member is occupying one of the rooms.

If you're a Diamond member, it's possible that your 2nd room may also get benefits like a room upgrade and/or breakfast. I believe it's YMMV though. My 2nd room received breakfast at Fisherman's Wharf in SF.

While it's not officially in the T&Cs - I've gotten Diamond benefits for 2 rooms in numerous properties - only been declined at the GH SAN.

well then, if thats the case, I will load up on FFN's or its equivelent if thats what we get

As Peter says, it is not in the T&C's. However, if you are nice and the property is even nicer (smile), you can get Diamond bennies for two rooms - such as for example at the GH Kauai (access to RC).

We have had 6 stays and 13 nights so far this year and unfortunately have not really been able to harvest many bonus points from anywhere.

Like others our decision making process has been based on price. However have managed 2 Hyatt stays this year so we should definitely requalify for Platinum, not that that is any big deal seeing they give it to the credit card holders automatically.

I hope we hear this week. Only have had 1 stay so far this year. Adding bonus pts to my SPG acct right now with their current bonus.

I have an upcoming trip to Seoul this month, and I was (still am) really tempted to use a Diamond suite upgrade at the Park Hyatt. But I have these Marriott MegaBonus nights from last year, so I'm using those instead.

Please, Hyatt, make it a bit easier for us to give you our money!

I liked your post, but hated the content. I hope the rep who sent you that e-mail was stoned, drunk, or both.
