Airbus A321 seat maps vary significantly by airline and cabin configuration, with layouts ranging from single-class to multi-cabin configurations. The most common variants include the A321LR and A321XLR, which feature different seat counts and arrangements depending on the carrier’s configuration.
Business Class Configurations
- La Compagnie operates a full business class A321LR with 68 seats in a 2-2 layout, eliminating row 13 and maintaining a 2-2 configuration across 17 rows.
- Aer Lingus uses a 16-seat business class layout on its A321LR, featuring a staggered 2-2 and 1-1 configuration based on the Thompson Aero Vantage platform, with individual entertainment screens and USB charging.🔗
- TAP Air Portugal’s A321LR Business Class is expected to mirror the Aer Lingus and JetBlue A321 Mint layouts, with 16 lie-flat seats in a 2-2 configuration and enhanced comfort features.🔗
Premium Economy and Economy Class
- American Airlines’ A321XLR features a 155-seat layout with 20 Flagship Suite seats in a 1-1 herringbone, 12 Premium Economy seats in a 2-2 layout, and 120 Main Cabin seats, with the first two Main Cabin rows designated as “Main Cabin Extra” for added legroom.
- China Southern’s A321 Business Class has a 3-row, 2-2 configuration with padded recliners and a blue mesh fabric cover, while the Economy section is compact, with only four rows in what was previously the Premium Economy section.🔗
- In Economy, American Airlines offers 36 Main Cabin Extra seats with 35” pitch and 36 standard seats with 31” pitch, all 18” wide, with exit row seats offering more legroom.🔗
Aircraft Variants and Equipment Codes
- The A321XLR is identified by the equipment code “32Q” and features a unique cabin layout with Flagship Suite, which is not present on standard A321neo variants.
- The A321LR is used by multiple carriers, including Aer Lingus and TAP Air Portugal, with similar business class layouts but differing seat counts and configurations.🔗
These configurations reflect the flexibility of the A321 family, with airlines customizing seating to suit their service model and route needs.

Wow: La Compagnie Launches Newark To Dusseldorf All-Business Class Flights
Transatlantic all-business-class airline La Compagnie has just announced its fourth route, and it’s not to France or Italy but to Germany! Specifically, as of the spring of 2027, the airline will operate nonstop flights between Newark and Düsseldorf. This is super cool, if you ask me, though I’m curious how successful this proves to be. In this post: La Compagnie will connect Newark & Düsseldorf La Compagnie is growing its Airbus A321neo fleet I commend La Compagnie’s expansion creativity Bottom line La Compagnie will connect Newark & Düsseldorf All-business-class airline La Compagnie plans to launch up to

Review: American A321XLR Premium Economy, JFK-LAX
The stars finally lined up again to hit up a product inaugural. Way back in 2017, I attended Southwest’s launch of the Boeing 737 MAX-8. Or should I say, attempted to, because that flight…didn’t go according to plan. This time, I set out to get on American’s inaugural flight on the new Airbus A321XLR. I found American A321XLR Premium Economy a nice if pricey ride. Pricey enough to where I question the economics, at least on transcontinental routes. I paid cash for this ticket…way too much, frankly. The total fare for coach from Dallas to New York, and then Premium

Review: Aer Lingus AerSpace Airbus A321LR (CDG-DUB)
For the next sector of my Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia trip, it was time to fly Aer Lingus’ A321LR AerSpace on the 80-minute flight from Paris (CDG) to Dublin (DUB). For those not familiar, AerSpace is Aer Lingus’ premium seating on regional flights. In terms of soft product, AerSpace is nothing exciting, as you just get a free drink and snack from the buy on board menu. What’s different is the hard product, and that differs greatly between planes. If you fly in AerSpace on an A320, you simply get a seat in the first row with

A Short Hop on a China Southern A321: Beijing Daxing to Seoul Incheon
You can find all the background information regarding this flight on my trip report from London to Beijing Daxing onboard a China Southern Airlines Airbus A350! Around ten hours after pushing back from the gate at London Heathrow, my first ride with China Southern Airlines since 2017 came to an end as the sleek and modern Airbus A350 cautiously pulled into Stand 195 at the international portion of Beijing Daxing Airport. Whilst there were areas that I felt could be improved, given the plethora of negative experiences that I had previously had with China Southern Airlines, I was left
