What is indigo bluchip

IndiGo BluChip is the airline’s loyalty and rewards programme that lets members earn points called BluChips on flights and related spend.

Programme basics

IndiGo BluChip is a revenue‑based earn‑and‑burn programme where members accumulate BluChips for every IndiGo flight based on the amount they spend. The points currency is called BluChips and can be redeemed for future IndiGo flights.

Earning BluChips

• Members earn 8 BluChips for every INR 100 spent on the base fare (plus fuel surcharge, if any) on IndiGo‑operated and eligible codeshare flights.
• A direct‑booking bonus adds 4 BluChips per INR 100 when the flight is booked through IndiGo’s website or mobile app.
• Tier bonuses increase earnings: Blu 2 members receive an extra 2 BluChips per INR 100, and Blu 1 members receive an extra 4 BluChips per INR 100.
• Select add‑ons such as Seat Select, Excess Baggage and Fast Forward earn BluChips only when purchased on the IndiGo website or app.
• Partner spend, like Swiggy purchases, can also generate BluChips (e.g., 1 BluChip per ₹ 250 on Swiggy).

Tier structure

• Blu 3 – entry‑level tier with no bonus earnings.
• Blu 2 – requires INR 100 K spend and four flights in 12 months; members earn a 2‑BluChip bonus per INR 100.
• Blu 1 – requires INR 200 K spend and eight flights in 12 months; members earn a 4‑BluChip bonus per INR 100.

Benefits and redemption

• Accumulated BluChips can be redeemed for any IndiGo flight, with a minimum redemption threshold of 500 BluChips.
• Redemption is available year‑round with no blackout dates.
• When a flight is booked using BluChips, that redemption does not count toward tier‑qualification spend for the next flight.

Additional notes

• BluChips earned from third‑party bookings are limited to base and tier‑bonus points; other benefits like discounts on add‑ons are not applied.
• The value of a BluChip is dynamic, typically ranging between INR 0.40 and INR 0.60 per chip.
