Choosing the best seat depends on what you value most during a flight.

Window Seats

  • Many travelers prefer true window seats because they provide a view and extra privacy, especially when the seat is positioned away from the aisle.
  • In Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A350 business class, seat 17A is highlighted as a “true” window seat with a privacy shield that creates a cocoon‑like feel.
  • Delta One’s even‑numbered rows also rank as top window seats, such as seat 8A, which is farther from the aisle and offers more privacy.
  • These seats often include personal power outlets, USB ports, and storage compartments for added comfort.

Aisle Seats

  • Aisle seats are praised for easy access to the aisle and quicker deplaning, which some flyers consider a major advantage.
  • An article from August 2025 argues that aisle seats are generally better than window seats for smart travelers.

Other Factors to Consider

  • Your choice may also depend on cabin class, seat pitch, and proximity to exits or the galley.
  • Business‑class cabins often have staggered configurations where window seats in even rows are preferred, while some economy exit rows like seat 20B on a Delta Boeing 717‑200 provide extra legroom but lack recline.
  • Consider personal height, need for legroom, and whether you travel alone or with a companion when selecting a seat.

Review: Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350 (KUL-SIN)
For the next segment of my Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia trip, it was time to fly Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A350-900 business class on the 50-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Singapore (SIN). At 184 miles, this is Singapore Airlines’ shortest route, and it’s always impressive to see what a high service standard the airline offers even on short hops like this. As you’d expect, this was an excellent flight, with flat beds, great entertainment and Wi-Fi, friendly service, and pretty good food. There’s not an airline that’s more consistent when it comes to service than Singapore

How To Choose Seats On An Airplane
When planning a flight, the location of your seat is one thing that can make or break your experience. Sometimes, you don’t have a choice, like if you’ve booked a basic economy seat or if you’re flying on Southwest and have to make a snap decision on your seat as you board the plane. Most airlines allow you to choose a seat before your flight. Depending on the airline, there may be a fee for selecting a seat, and prices can differ depending on what seat you choose. Except for ultra-low-cost carriers, there are usually some seats on the

Get a decent seat
One of my key travel mantras is to score a seat asap. As you will see below, I am obsessive about getting the perfect seat. If I am flying on a long flight, a decent seat that will accommodate my length becomes crucial. If I am not up the front, then exit rows and bulkheads become way more important. I always choose my seat at the time of booking. If the airline or booking website won’t let me, I keep re-visiting the website until I can. Or I call, use the agent’s first name and politely ask for their

Why I’m still firmly on #TeamWindowSeat
Everyone knows that the middle seat on a plane is not the place to be. There is no spot more undesirable. I don’t know of anyone who specifically chooses the middle seat for a flight (although I am sure there is at least one crazy person out there somewhere who does!). What is up for debate is whether the window seat or aisle seat is better. Now, I understand that this comes down to personal preference in most cases (although you may be more selfish if you like the window), but most days when I fly, I am reminded

The Best Economy Class Seat Aboard This Airplane Operated by Delta Air Lines?
I was able to select a seat assignment on a recent flight which was operated by Delta Air Lines. I wondered to myself if this is the best economy class seat aboard this airplane? The seat is 21A aboard a Boeing 717-200 airplane operated by Delta Air Lines. The reason why it may arguably be the best seat in the economy class cabin is because no seat is directly in front of it to allow room for operation of the emergency exit if necessary. Plenty of leg room in this seat is the result. Negative aspects of this

Review: Delta One Business Class Boeing 767 (JFK-LAX)
For the last segment of my Aria Suite Adventure to Hong Kong, I flew Delta’s Boeing 767-400ER business class (marketed as “Delta One”), on the six hour flight from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX). Delta has a fleet of over 60 767s, and while they operate select premium transcon flights, they also operate some long haul flights to Europe, South America, etc. Ultimately for a flight across the country, I found this to be perfectly pleasant, with comfortable enough flat beds, very friendly service, extensive entertainment, and free Wi-Fi. For that matter, the best part of the

Aisle Seats Win: 6 Reasons Smart Flyers Never Pick The Window
The best flyers prefer aisle seats, and airlines even value the business more of those who do. Aisle seats are just better than window seats, and we don’t even need to talk about the dreaded middle. If you’re in the aisle seat you don’t get those window seat views, but those are better in theory than practice outside of the first and final minutes of a flight. And you do have to get up to let other passengers into the aisle if they need to use the restroom. So there are tradeoffs, but they’re minor compared to the 6

Review: American Airlines Business Class Boeing 777 (LHR-MIA)
For the final segment of the return journey of our trip to Geneva, we flew American Airlines’ Boeing 777-200ER business class on the nine hour flight from London (LHR) to Miami (MIA). I came into this flight with pretty low expectations. American isn’t exactly known for world class food or service. But I’ve gotta say, I walked away from the flight with a favorable impression, and the experience was nearly perfect. The service was impeccable, the seats were comfortable, the entertainment and Wi-Fi were very good, and the food amenities were more than sufficient. Based on this experience,
