United charges an additional $499 per long‑haul flight for passengers who want to select one of these seats, even if they are already confirmed in business class.
Location and Seat Designation
On the 787‑9, the Polaris Studio seats are located in the front row of the business‑class cabin and are designated as 1A, 1D, 1F, 1L, 9A, 9D, 9F, and 9L. These seats occupy the bulkhead rows and are roughly 25 % larger than the standard Polaris seats, with some offering a second ottoman for a companion.
