Travel Hacking Towards Better Travel: My Upcoming $8K Retail Value Trip That Isn’t “Free”
One of the coolest things about this “game”, “hobby” or whatever you want to call it is being able to string together trips for a lot less money than they would cost otherwise. You can often stay places and get experiences you wouldn’t otherwise. I have one such trip coming up with my family that I thought would be worth sharing. Booking it combined a number of different strategies that both saved us money, but will also ensure we have an amazing experience. Earlier in the year I needed to commit some of my expiring suite upgrades and targeted

Get to the Sonoma County / Santa Rosa Airport (STS) with SMART Train + Connect ($9 / Person) or with Groome ($20 / Person)
Good afternoon everyone, happy Friday! Several years ago, I wrote The Fastest Way from San Francisco to the SFO Centurion Lounge and STS is a small airport, with 2 terminals that is served by 3 airlines with routes up and down the West Coast and a longer flight to DFW ( Wikipedia). I have an upcoming trip to Southern California and I am trying to decide if

Trains and Buses from Orange County to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN)
This post was inspired by my recent Amtrak trip from Seattle to Los Angeles on the Coast Starlight ( link). I was curious if/how it were possible to get from Los Angeles Union Station to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). After doing some research, I found out how to get to LAX from Orange County. Then I figured out how to get to San Diego International Airport (SAN) from Orange County. There are several airports in SoCal, but I did not look into flights out of Long Beach (LGB), Burbank (BUR), Santa Barbara (SBA), Ontario (ONT), San Diego McClellan-Palomar (CLD),
