Review: Singapore Airlines Business Class Boeing 737 MAX (SIN-KTI)
For the next portion of my Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia trip, it was time to fly Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 737 MAX 8 business class on the 1hr40min flight from Singapore Changi (SIN) to Phnom Penh Techo (KTI). I was excited to finally fly with the carrier’s only narrow body aircraft, which only joined the fleet in recent years, after SilkAir was integrated into Singapore Airlines. This flight was lovely, as you’d expect from Singapore Airlines, with comfortable flat beds, great entertainment and free Wi-Fi, tasty food and drinks, and friendly service. In this post: I

NEW ROUTES 2026 #8: Fiji Airways adds Gold Coast flights
You will soon be able to fly direct from the Gold Coast to Fiji. That’s one holiday destination to another. But, the upside is that it may offer an interesting route to the US. From 11 June 2026, Gold Coast travellers can fly direct to Nadi three times weekly, connecting onward to Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth or Vancouver. I’m doing a series of posts on new routes to and from Australia. Some are actually new routes, and some are new in the sense of having new aircraft, updated interiors, changed frequencies or other innovations. Looks like there will be

Review: American Airlines 737 MAX 8 Bermuda to New York
For my outbound, I flew BermudAir from New York (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA) and had a pleasant flight. For my return, BermudAir was not offering any flights to the New York City area on Presidents Day Monday, so the nonstop options included Delta, American & United. While I preferred the slightly later times of Delta & United, American was the cheapest, so it was booked. American Airlines Flight 281 New York (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA) Scheduled Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes (10 minutes late) Seat/Cabin: 26C, Economy Aircraft: Boeing 737 MAX 8 We were

Flight Review: Southwest’s New Assigned Seating and Boarding Process
Last week I had my first experience flying Southwest with the new assigned seating and boarding process flying to Sarasota, Florida. As we walked through the terminal in St Louis, it was strange to see all of the numbered posts gone at the gates. Here were some highlights and observations on what to expect: I was surprised to see people lined up early, and in the same locations as the previous A, B, C boarding. There were some roped areas facing directly at the gate, much like other carriers. There was even a placard for priority so I assumed
