The best seat on a Delta flight really depends on which aircraft you’ll be on, so you can match the seat that offers the most legroom, privacy, or convenience for that specific plane.

Boeing 717‑200 (Delta’s short‑haul narrow‑body)

  • Seat 21A – praised for spacious legroom because there’s no seat directly in front of it, giving extra room for emergency‑exit operation  The Gate with Brian Cohen .
  • Seat 20B – sometimes considered a good option since no other passenger sits in that left‑side row, though it doesn’t recline because it’s an exit row  The Gate with Brian Cohen .

Boeing 737‑900ER (Delta’s larger narrow‑body)

  • Seats 21A and 21F – the only truly good window seats in coach, offering the most legroom on this jet  Eye of the Flyer .
  • Seat 11D – a “half‑good” aisle seat that lets you stretch your feet into the space in front of the coat closet, but it has an immovable armrest  Eye of the Flyer .

Airbus A320 (Delta Comfort+)

  • Comfort+ seats – generally provide the best extra legroom on Delta’s short‑ to medium‑haul flights, making them the go‑to choice for added space  ATXJetsetter .

Boeing 767 (Delta One Business Class)

  • Even‑row window seats (e.g., 8A) – considered the top picks because they’re farther from the aisle, closer to the window, and give more privacy  One Mile at a Time .

Boeing 767‑300 (Delta Comfort+ and Premium seats)

  • Front row of Comfort+ (C+) – offers a lot of legroom and a tray table in the armrest, making it a strong candidate for tall travelers  Eye of the Flyer .
  • Rows 25 and 26 (AB & FG) – also provide generous legroom, though they have limited recline and are near the bathroom  Eye of the Flyer .

Airbus A350 (Delta Premium Select)

  • Bulkhead row – the legroom looks especially generous, with a retractable footrest that lets the window passenger stretch out  Eye of the Flyer .

How to choose when you don’t know the aircraft

  • Check the flight details on Delta’s website or your booking confirmation to see which plane is assigned.
  • Prioritize Comfort+ or Premium Select if you want extra legroom on most narrow‑body jets.
  • Select an even‑row window seat on wide‑body business‑class cabins for privacy and reduced aisle traffic.

By matching these seat recommendations to the aircraft type on your specific Delta 178 flight, you can pick the spot that best fits your comfort preferences.

The Best Economy Class Seat Aboard This Airplane Operated by Delta Air Lines?
I was able to select a seat assignment on a recent flight which was operated by Delta Air Lines. I wondered to myself if this is the best economy class seat aboard this airplane? The seat is 21A aboard a Boeing 717-200 airplane operated by Delta Air Lines. The reason why it may arguably be the best seat in the economy class cabin is because no seat is directly in front of it to allow room for operation of the emergency exit if necessary. Plenty of leg room in this seat is the result. Negative aspects of this

Review: Delta One Business Class Boeing 767 (JFK-LAX)
For the last segment of my Aria Suite Adventure to Hong Kong, I flew Delta’s Boeing 767-400ER business class (marketed as “Delta One”), on the six hour flight from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX). Delta has a fleet of over 60 767s, and while they operate select premium transcon flights, they also operate some long haul flights to Europe, South America, etc. Ultimately for a flight across the country, I found this to be perfectly pleasant, with comfortable enough flat beds, very friendly service, extensive entertainment, and free Wi-Fi. For that matter, the best part of the

Review: Delta A320 Comfort+ (DFW-SLC)
We’re off on another ski trip, but this time we’re headed somewhere new. Though I have skied many times in the past, all of my trips have been to Colorado and, unless you pay the astronomically high prices to fly into places like Vail, Aspen and Telluride, you find yourself flying into Denver and then driving a few hours up to the resorts. Therefore, we settled on Park City as the mountain is just a 45 minute drive from Salt Lake City Booking I found some decently priced flights that worked with our schedule, leaving Thursday night and

What is the best Delta Premium Select seat on the new A350? New PR photos are out!
We are just about 1 month away from the inaugural Delta A350 flight from Detroit to Japan. While many are excited about the new Delta One Suite seats, a.k.a. A Delta One seat with a plastic door, I am stoked about the new Premium Select (PS) seats since they are the first real new seat from Delta in a very long time. To that end we have the issue of the “best” seat in the PS “cabin” even though it apparently is lacking a curtain divider like Delta One and the rest of the jet. To me the leg

Is the decision to operate so many Boeing 737-900ERs impacting your choice to fly Delta? #PaxEx is low.
Yesterday in my monthly news roundup the very first story highlighted was the fact that Delta Air Lines will soon fly 130 of the Boeing 737-900ERs. Having had 24 hours to think about this it bothers me more and more. Why? While I was on the very first ever revenue flight for the 737-900ER on November 1st 2013, and had a positive review at the time, now having flown it so much for 3+ years that initial feeling has truly soured. Why? There are just too many seats crammed onto this jet. 180 means this: 6 of the
