You can convert certain airline “points” into Experience Points (XP), but it depends on the program’s rules.
Flying Blue conversion of points to XP
- If you have Level Miles (the points earned from past flights) you can have them converted to XP. The standard rate announced for the transition was 1,000 Level Miles = 5 XP Traveling for Miles .
- A later update showed the conversion changed to 1,000 Level Miles = 4 XP for members checking the website after the change Traveling for Miles .
- When you have both Level Miles and qualifying flights, Flying Blue will calculate which option gives the higher XP total and apply that conversion, not both Traveling for Miles .
Limits and considerations
- The conversion applies only to Level Miles and qualifying flights; other types of miles (e.g., those earned directly from Air France, KLM, or SkyTeam flights) are not affected by the extended validity rules and therefore aren’t automatically turned into XP Traveling for Miles .
- XP is primarily earned by flying (the cabin and flight type determine the amount) and is used to determine status tiers, so converting points to XP is a way to boost your status if you have a surplus of Level Miles 2PAXfly .
In short, under Flying Blue you can trade your accumulated Level Miles for XP at the program‑specified conversion rate, but the conversion is limited to those specific miles and follows the higher‑outcome rule.
