The Embraer E175 is a widely used regional jet known for its passenger comfort and operational efficiency.

Design and Capacity

It typically seats 76 passengers in a two‑class layout, with 12 Business Class seats and 64 Economy seats.
The aircraft features a 2‑2 seating configuration that provides a spacious feel for passengers.
Its cabin is praised for wide aisles, large overhead bins, and a relatively quiet interior.

Operator Adoption

Air Côte d’Ivoire ordered four E175s with eight purchase rights to modernize its fleet and replace turboprops.
The first delivery to Air Côte d’Ivoire is scheduled for the first half of 2027.
SkyWest operates around 180 E175s and is the largest operator globally, with plans to reach nearly 240 aircraft.
American Airlines added ten more E175s in 2017 and four additional in 2023, maintaining a fleet of 74 aircraft.
The E175 is considered the backbone of the U.S. regional network, holding about 85‑86% market share in its segment.

Performance and Efficiency

Airlines cite the E175’s operational efficiency and low operating costs as key benefits.
Its performance enables carriers to serve short‑haul routes profitably and improve connectivity for smaller communities.

Passenger Experience

Passengers often note the E175 feels more like a larger jet, with comfortable seats and ample cabin width.
Main Cabin Extra seats provide extra pitch, and the 2‑2 layout offers a balance of seat width and comfort comparable to larger aircraft.

5 Reasons I Love Flying The Embraer E175
Typically I go out of my way to avoid regional jets. They’re loud, tight, require you to gate-check your bag, sometimes don’t have first class, etc. However, there’s one regional jet I love — the Embraer E175 (perhaps more accurately, the entire family of Embraer jets, as I like the Embraer E190, etc., as well, but just don’t fly them as much). I most frequently fly the Embraer E175 on American Eagle, and I think I almost prefer the plane to American’s domestic mainline fleet. Why? In this post: There aren’t really any bad seats on the

Whilst I’m not giving the full blow by bow trip report, some thoughts: - In Main Cabin Extra (Row 8), they’re VERY comfy – as the seat is right behind first class – and in Main Cabin Extra) - Overhead bin space wasn’t mainline standard, but on the other hand I saw only a
