You can set up a free “any aisle seat” alert by using ExpertFlyer’s free account feature.
Steps to request an Any Aisle Seat alert
- Create a free ExpertFlyer account – the free tier lets you create one active seat alert at a time. View from the Wing
- Navigate to the Seat Alerts section after logging in.
- Choose the “Any Aisle Seat” option for the alert type. This is one of the three alert choices (Any Window, Any Aisle, Any Seat) available with the free alert. View from the Wing
- Activate the alert; ExpertFlyer will monitor the flight and email you when an aisle seat becomes available.
If you need more than one simultaneous alert, you can purchase additional alerts for $0.99 each, but the single free “Any Aisle Seat” alert works without any cost. View from the Wing

United Airlines’ Awesome New Seat Alert Feature
United Airlines deserves credit for having by far the best customer-facing tech of any US airline, especially when it comes to the mobile app. It’s materially better than Delta’s, and in a completely different league than American’s. Along those lines, United is now rolling out yet another awesome app feature, which passengers will no doubt appreciate. In this post: Zach Griff reports on how United is rolling out a new seat alert feature. This is debuting for select customers as of today (Friday, March 22, 2024), but should be available for all passengers in the coming months.
