Fly Business Class To France For Just 1,500 Frequent Flyer Miles (This Is Real)
Earlier today I wrote about getting transatlantic business class awards for an unheard of 13,500 miles each way. It turns out there’s an even better deal out there. Business class for practically free: just 1,500 points to fly business class to France. This is bookable through Air France KLM’s Flying Blue, which is a transfer partner of all of the major bank currencies. Normally you might have to hunt and peck for availability day by day but there’s a trick to see Flying Blue’s hidden award calendar showing a month of availability at a time. Book quickly. Even if there were more than a handful of dates, I wouldn’t expect this to last, but some of you may jump on it and win the lottery. There may be other destination cities with similar pricing. I took a trip to Paris in the spur of the moment as part of my Japan trip. Initially, the plan was to fly from Toronto to Tokyo in business class with Air Canada. That all changed when I scored last minute First Class seats on Japan Airlines’ new A350 departing from Paris to Tokyo. I decided to make a stop in the City of Lights for a couple of nights before continuing to Tokyo. Booking a hotel in Paris at the last-minute proved to be a challenge. Aeroplan devaluing award chart, but it could be worse
Air Canada announced a couple of days ago that it’ll be updating its award chart from June 1, 2026. Unfortunately the most prevalent change is an increase, with ~85% of the bands requiring more Aeroplan points. That does mean that ~15% of the pricing bands do see a decrease, but that’ll be scant consolation for most people. A full list of the changes can be found below; where there aren’t values listed for certain types of awards, that means they’ll be unchanged from present. As originally posted to Rewards Canada earlier today, here is a sneak peek at a few of the upcoming Air France KLM Flying Blue promo rewards!
