Capital One Travel App Now Makes Lounge Access, Rebooking And Flight Updates Easier
Capital One has refreshed its travel experience to make bookings, rewards, lounge access and trip updates clearer and easier. There’s no longer a need to navigate through banking to get to travel with the Capital One Travel app. So the live waitlist status feature – which was around last summer – has not returned. Capital One made big investments in travel, not just points transfer but also booking and price protection, as they prepared to launch their Venture X (and later Venture X Business) cards. They started building out a network of lounges, where the food and beverage

Transferring Capital One Miles vs Booking Through Capital One Travel
If you earn miles with Capital One cards, you usually have two ways to book flights: On the surface, the mileage totals can look similar. But depending on taxes, fees, and what’s included in the ticket, one option can quietly offer far better value than the other. Best when taxes and fees are low Transferring Capital One miles usually makes the most sense when the cash portion of an award ticket is minimal. These are the situations where transfers shine: A great example is short-haul European flights booked on British Airways using British Airways Club,

So… Are Capital One Miles Worth Earning?
I’ve been taking a closer look at Capital One lately and trying to decide what role, if any, it should still play in my points strategy. On paper, Capital One miles are easy to like. They’re simple to earn, simple to redeem, and there are several ways to get solid value from them without much effort. Cards like the Venture X make it even easier to justify sticking around, especially when the annual fee is offset by credits and perks. But the more I looked at the program, the more I kept coming back to the same question:

Capital One Launches New Travel App With Some Cool Features
Capital One is continuing to invest in its travel business. Today, it unveiled a new dedicated travel app while bringing more of the technology and operations behind its travel platform in-house. The move represents a strategic step toward building a fully integrated travel ecosystem for cardholders. Up to 76% back at Klook via Capital One Shopping (today only)
For a few months, Capital One Shopping has been offering a “Today’s Top Offer” boost for one specific merchant. While the exact targeted rates can vary, most (if not all) Capital One Shopping users should see a higher rate for Klook, a travel portal that sells activities, flights, hotels, train tickets, airport transfers, and more. I’m seeing 34% back up to $1,000 as the headline offer on my accounts. Stephen found 76.5% back when scrolling down, so it’s worth hunting a bit within your home page offers. There may be even better versions out there. *Remember, you don’t need

Today’s Capital One Shopping Deal of the Day is for Viator. These daily deals are typically available to everyone with a Capital One Shopping account, though the exact amount back can vary. At the time of writing, we are seeing 50% back on all of our accounts on the FM team. While we have seen activity sites stretch even higher, this is nonetheless a compelling deal if you plan to book tours, airport transfers, or other activities through Viator. For those unfamiliar, Capital One Shopping is the public shopping portal owned by Capital One, though note that you

Up to $250 back on $250 with Capital One Shopping Home Page Bonus Offers
The public Capital One Shopping portal (which does not require having a Capital One account) is out with some interesting targeted “Home Page Bonus Offers” for some people. Sadly, I don’t see these on my own account, but others are seeing offers as good as $250 back on a hotel booking of $250 or more. There are numerous other targeted offers like $100 back on $250 at Trip.com or $30 back on $50 at Walmart that some users are seeing, so it could certainly be worth a look. As you can see above, these “Home Page Bonus Offers”

Success: Capital One Shopping cash back on a hotel booking, 10 months later
Many credit cards offer bonuses when booking hotels through the credit card portal, and some credit cards offer hotel credits. However, I don’t highly value the 8x or 10x or 12x offered by various credit card portals, and I don’t value credit card hotel credits at face value. A large part of the reason for both of those things is that it is often possible to earn better rewards by clicking through a shopping portal to make a hotel booking directly with the chain, earning both hotel points/elite credit and shopping portal rewards. However, a common question is ,
