American Airlines has retrofitted its 777-300ER fleet with a new business class product, replacing first class and upgrading the premium experience. The 777-300ER now features 70 Flagship Suite® seats, 44 Premium Economy seats, and 216 Main Cabin seats. The new cabins are expected to be fully in service by mid-2026, with the first aircraft delivered in August 2026. These changes include the elimination of first class, increased premium capacity, and improved amenities.
Business Class Configuration

- Seats are based on the Collins Aerospace Elevate Ascent platform, matching the product on American’s 787-9P aircraft.🔗

- 44 Premium Economy seats with the MiQ 2.0 seat by Collins Aerospace.
- 216 Main Cabin seats, with reduced galley and lavatory space to accommodate the new layout.🔗
- Lavatory count reduced from 12 to 9, with only 3 at the rear for economy passengers.🔗
Fleet-Wide Changes
- Wi-Fi upgraded to Viasat, now free on all 777-300ERs, replacing older Panasonic systems.
- The 777-300ER fleet will no longer include first class, and the new interiors are part of a broader retrofit plan for 777-200ER and 787-8 aircraft.🔗
